Explanations:
The safe operation of blowing machines with frequency-controlled drives and a 400V/16A connection requires connection to a power source equipped with an all-current sensitive residual current device (RCD) of type B or B+. If the available power source is not appropriately equipped (e.g. no RCD or only RCD type A) or if the type of RCD is unknown, this power distributor ensures safe operation.
Fault currents with smooth DC components, as may occur in frequency-controlled machines, can be monitored in this way without additional protective measures at the power source.
